Not every Air Max is a classic, but Nike really set the bar high with this 2006 release. The Air Max 360 was the first running shoe to feature the 360 degree air sole that would eventually be combined with other classic silhouettes and become a staple in the sneaker world. Like all great Air Max’s the “360′s” were released in dozens of colorways and remained hot for several years after release but have not been on the market in quite some time, anybody else ready for a retro-release?
The hottest MC of 2011 not to drop an album (featured in TakeoverNJ’s response to MTV’s “Hottest MC’s In The Game” List) picks up right where he left off with another mixtape that’s better than a lot of albums released this year.
“Dream Chasers 2” starts off with a classic Mike Tyson speech and is just as relentless as Iron Mike for the next 20 tracks. The beats are provided by soon-to-be A-List producers like Jahlil Beats, Kardiak, All Star and The Beat Bully (the man responsible for “House Party”) and feature the kind of aggressive, confrontational soundscapes that suit Meek Mill’s flow perfectly (for the uninitiated imagine Cam’ron’s witty lyrics being yelled by Waka Flacka). The few exceptions to this high-octane affair like “Used To Be” and “The Ride” provide a nice break from the in-your-face vibe and allow Meek to show his introspective side.
The guest list on “Dream Chasers 2” is as impressive as any mixtape dropped this year, Drake adds his signature sound to “Amen,” 2 Chains brings his southern charm to “Str8 Like That,” Kendrick Lamar adds his next level West Coast flavor to “A1 Everything” and Fabolous and Big Sean both lend multiple verses. Of course the rest of Meek’s MMG family are along for the ride and are featured on several tracks that should all stoke anticipation for the next Maybach Music Group album.
Meek Mill is currently in the midst of a hot streak to rival anybody in Hip-Hop, the release of this nearly universally acclaimed mixtape combined with being announced as a performer at Hot 97’s Summer Jam, signing to Roc Nation management and “Lean Wit’ It” (way more menacing than the version by Dem Franchise Boys) getting steady play on radio and video outlets, it seems like all the dream chasing is finally paying off.

“The Avengers” movie is easily the best super-hero posse cut to ever hit the big screen, but back in 2010 Tony Stark got his own Nike Dunk to commemorate the release of “Iron Man 2.” The shoe featured the iconic Iron Man colorway and flawlessly bridged the gap between comic book fans, skaters and sneakerheads.
This week marks the ten year anniversary of Allen Iverson’s classic “Practice?…We Talkin’ About Practice?” rant. A few years ago Under Crown (aka UNDRCRWN) released a T-Shirt to commemorate one of the funniest press conferences ever. The clip is available on youtube and is just as hilarious now as it was a decade ago.
